Premier League rejects Liverpool and Everton's request

Liverpool and Everton have made a belated attempt to move the date of next week's Merseyside derby.

The two Liverpool clubs will face off at Anfield next Wednesday, April 2.

However, both teams wanted to bring the clash closer by 24 hours, mainly due to Arsenal's match schedule.

The Daily Mail has revealed that both clubs saw positives in moving the match to Tuesday.

This is because Arsenal face Fulham on Tuesday night, before the match with Everton at noon on Saturday.

And the Gunners will have more time to recover and prepare for the match at Goodison Park.

And given that they are Liverpool's main title rivals, Slot had no problem with postponing the match. However, the Premier League rejected the request.
