Syrian rebels seized Damascus on Sunday and overthrew the government, and Assad fled to Russia after 15 years of civil war and six decades of autocratic rule by his family.

Syrian footballers will in the future wear green equipment instead of red, while green has replaced red in the national emblem.

In addition to the new published image of the emblem, the Syrian national team has also published a photo of some of its football players with new, green jerseys.
