Less than 10 days away from Albania's next qualifying match against Serbia and the focus remains more on tickets as sports fans consider victory a must more than in other matches of the Rossoneri against this opponent, as a result, there are many who will want to witness it at the National Arena on June 7th.
In an interview for Top Channel, the general secretary of the Albanian Football Association, Ilir Shulku, explains what happens with the ticketing process, which unlike other matches, is done by booking and then by a random computer draw.
"There is one day left for booking tickets, which is May 30th, as the booking process began on May 15th and unlike other matches, this time there has been a request for over 200,000 tickets, while the stadium's capacity is 22,000 seats. To enter the stadium, fans will need to have an ID card with them that corresponds to the name on the ticket, otherwise they will not be able to enter," said Ilir Shulku, general secretary of the Albanian Football Association.
Were there any extra measures from the police for this match and have you had any communications?
Shulku: We have had several meetings with police leaders and the most recent one was yesterday as this match is considered high-risk and this time the police will have very strict measures and there will be several checkpoints.
From a sporting perspective, how do you see this match in terms of the workload and pressure surrounding it?
Shulku: Sometimes such loads go overboard and it's not good, but our players are active in important clubs in Europe and I am definitely optimistic and believe that we have every chance to win.
Albania has so far played two matches in the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign against England and Andorra, from which it has won 3 points, ranking second behind the 3 Lions in Group K, while Serbia will play its first match against Albania on June 7 in this World Cup qualifying campaign.
