Sociedad triumphs on penalties in the King's Cup final

In a spectacular final held at the La Cartuja Stadium, Real Sociedad were crowned champions of the King's Cup, after defeating Atletico Madrid 4-3 on penalties. Regular time and extra time ended in a 2-2 draw.
The team from San Sebastian started the match in a furious manner, taking the lead in the first minute with a goal from Ander Barrenetxea, which stunned the opponents and set the pace of the final.
Atletico Madrid reacted quickly and equalized in the 19th minute through Ademola Lookman. However, Real Sociedad regained the lead at the end of the first half, when Mikel Oyarzabal was accurate from the penalty spot in the 45th+1 minute.
The second half brought another reaction from Madrid. In the 83rd minute, Julian Alvarez scored the equalizer, bringing the match to 2-2 and completely reopening the final.
Extra time also produced no winner, sending everything to the penalty shootout. There, Real Sociedad proved to be more accurate and triumphed 4-3, securing the King's Cup trophy after a dramatic confrontation until the end.
