Tragic in Spain! Two trains collide with each other, dozens of victims suspected

A serious rail accident was recorded this Wednesday morning in Spain, where two passenger trains collided near the city of Toledo, in the area between Los Yébenes and Urda.

The incident occurred at around 09:00 on the railway line connecting Madrid with Andalusia. The accident involved a high-speed AVE train, operated by Renfe, and a train operated by Iryo, which were travelling in opposite directions.

According to Spanish media reports, as a result of the collision, two carriages derailed and ended up on a steep slope near the railway. Emergency teams, firefighters and several medical units, including emergency helicopters, are engaged at the scene.

Witnesses have reported serious consequences from the accident, while authorities are working to determine the number of victims, which is claimed to be at least 10.

Due to the accident, the company that manages the railway infrastructure in Spain, ADIF, has suspended the circulation of high-speed trains on the Madrid-Andalusia line.
