"Skype is shutting down"! The application will cease to exist after two decades

"Goodbye Skype", just a few more days and one of the oldest communication platforms will no longer work.

Microsoft, the owner of Skype, announced that on May 5 it will officially close this communication platform after more than two decades of existence.

As stated by Microsoft, their goal is to simplify the offering for users and focus on their "powerful Teams business platform," to which millions of remaining Skype users will be redirected in the coming days, reports the Independent.

Skype was launched in 2003 in Estonia and quickly spread as a way to make free calls around the world, something of a revolution considering that international calls on traditional phones were once very expensive.
