Trump announces full opening of the Strait of Hormuz: It is 100% under US control

US President Donald Trump has declared that the US Navy has checked "the entire" Strait of Hormuz for mines, claiming that the crucial waterway is open and fully under the control of the United States.
While Tehran claims the strait, a vital shipping route for oil, natural gas and other goods, will remain closed until Washington agrees to its demands, including war reparations and the lifting of the US naval blockade, Trump said Hormuz is open. Trump says US in talks with Iran to reopen Strait of Hormuz
" It's open now. Look, the only one that has control of the Strait of Hormuz now is the US Navy. We have a blockade that has been infallible. It's a wall of steel ," he said.
The president also claimed that the US Navy checked the entire strait for mines.
" The strait is open to everyone except Iran right now. A little bit complicated because they, every now and then, lay a mine and we find the mine. We have controlled the entire strait, as you may have heard. You may not have heard, but we control the strait 100 percent ," Trump added.
He went on to say that Iran could "cause trouble" in the strait, but argued that Iran is "incompetent."
" They have no money. Iran is bankrupt, completely bankrupt, and they are not paying their soldiers. They have 300 percent inflation since last night ," he said.
Regarding Iran's calls for war reparations, Trump reiterated his previous message on social media that if Tehran insists on such reparations, the United States will require Iran to pay for the damage it has caused to the United States and others over the past five decades, including compensation for the families of anti-government protesters killed in Iran.
