A tragic accident occurred yesterday evening in Italy, where two young Albanians lost their lives, while three other people were injured.
The incident was recorded on the strada Sanità, on the segment of the provincial road that connects Savigliano to Vottignasco, in the province of Cuneo.
Italian media report that this is a narrow road, known for years as problematic and where serious accidents have been recorded before.
According to preliminary information, the Jeep in which three young Albanians were traveling collided head-on with a heavy Iveco vehicle. The collision was severe, while the exact dynamics of the accident remain under investigation by the authorities.
There were three Albanian citizens in the SUV.
Two of them, in their early 20s, died at the scene. The third, a 21-year-old man who was in the back seat, was injured and was rushed to the Savigliano hospital in a code yellow condition (out of danger to life).
Meanwhile, two people, a man and a woman, were traveling in the heavy vehicle.
The man, 58, was also taken to hospital in a yellow code, while the woman, 55, suffered serious injuries (polytrauma) and was transported by helicopter to the Santa Croce hospital in Cuneo, in a red code.
