Other details have been learned about the testimony of Nors Manlapaz, the mother of Mark Samson, the young man accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, Ilaria Sula, inside their apartment with three stab wounds to the neck, on March 26.
"I was sleeping in the evening. It was only on the morning of March 26 that I realized that someone else was in the house, when I saw two cups of coffee. I heard them arguing, then nothing was heard. I opened the door and saw the dead girl. I lost consciousness," said Mark's mother, who is under investigation as a suspect in helping her son hide the crime and the dead body of the 22-year-old Albanian.
Italian media write that if it is confirmed that the blood stains that the police found on the walls of the young man's apartment, which are suspected to have been left during Ilaria's attempt to leave her ex-partner's house, and if Mark's mother did not find the 22-year-old dead but injured and did not help by calling the police or an ambulance, the charge against her could escalate from "hiding the corpse" to "collaboration in murder."
The blood stains may also have been caused during the attempt to hide Ilaria's body, which was stuffed into a suitcase taken from Mark's parents' room and thrown into a ravine.
The investigation is also focused on determining the exact time of the girl's death. Mark stated during questioning that he had sexual intercourse with her at night, which will be verified through an autopsy, and that he killed her the following morning, after bringing her breakfast to her room.
