The police have released the person with the initials B. Xh., who was arrested on Tuesday evening in connection with the assassination attempt in Rinas, after he was questioned for several hours. According to sources, he is a 35-year-old from the village of Halil, whose apartment is located very close to the place where the perpetrators burned the Toyota vehicle.
The young man stated that he was not at home at the time of the incident and denied any connection to the assassination, adding that he did not see any suspicious movements near the area. His escort was carried out because he had previously been convicted of robbery with violence.
The police have also received the results of the expertise of the weapons found in the burned vehicle, where according to sources, they were not used in other criminal incidents.
Meanwhile, after the assassination, a house with an arsenal of weapons was discovered in the village of Zall, owned by Ylli Zalla, who was declared wanted. Investigators suspected that the perpetrators could have obtained the weapons in this house, but expertise has ruled out this possibility.
A month after the assassination, the police continue to question people who may have knowledge, but there are still no identified perpetrators or orderers. In the attack on November 11, carried out at noon, Gilmando Dani was killed, while his friend, Muçi Shaljani, died a few days later in hospital. Both had just arrived from Barcelona when the assassins ambushed them at the Rinas roundabout.
