"Brazilian companies accept it", former deputy minister Zusi: Why didn't the company return the container of meat with salmonella?

Alban Zusi, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, businessman and President of the Albanian Export Center, invited to the show “The Unexposed” on MCN TV, commented on the entry into the country of a significant amount of meat infected with salmonella. He stated that meat is imported into Albania only from two Brazilian companies, which have exclusivity with Albanian companies, and one of them is “Dimali”.
According to him, it is a known fact that when salmonella contamination occurs, Brazilian companies immediately return the container, it is enough to send the certificate and conduct an analysis in a laboratory, but this was not done by the company.
"Albanian companies have exclusivity in two large Brazilian companies, which when they go to international fairs, like the one in Frankfurt, are present with very large stands, five to six times larger than those of European businesses.
This shows that they have an extremely high level of standards. Since 2007-2008, a team from the Ministry of Agriculture has visited Brazil to classify the facilities and the decision has been made to only buy from those facilities certified by the European Union or Russia.
After that, Russia was removed and only the EU remained. Today, meat is imported into Albania only by two Brazilian companies, which have exclusivity with Albanian companies, and one of them is “Dimali”.
These companies are EU certified and export a thousand containers a day. There is no way they would produce a contaminated container for Albania.
Furthermore, it is a well-known fact that when salmonella contamination occurs, Brazilian companies immediately return the container, simply by sending the certificate and having it analyzed in a laboratory, usually in Greece.
"I don't understand the subjective reason of this subject, because there may have been non-cooperation, even though I value that business and consider it a good business," said Zusi.
