However, the heavy rainfall that fell on Sunday, especially in rural and especially mountainous areas, has caused serious problems in some areas of the Elbasan District.
The situation has been more problematic in the municipalities of Librazhd, Prrenjas, Gramsh and Elbasan, where snowfall has caused uncertainty and difficulties in moving and carrying out usual activities.
The thickness of the snow in these areas has reached up to 10-15 cm, making traffic difficult, especially on mountain roads. The sudden drop in temperatures has caused frost, which has worsened the situation.
This has not only made it difficult to move vehicles and transport people, but has also brought other consequences to important sectors such as agriculture and electricity supply.
One of the most serious consequences has been damage to orchards, vineyards, and spring crops, which were exposed to cold conditions and frost.
This has negatively affected the expected production of fruits and vineyards, putting the income of farmers in these areas at risk, especially in the Administrative Units of Stravaj, Rrajcë, Hotolisht, Polis, Qendër, Labinot Mal, Lenie, Kukur, etc.
Meanwhile, damage to several power lines has further aggravated the situation, causing power outages in several rural areas, which has affected the daily lives of residents.
This situation has created the need for rapid and efficient interventions by local and national authorities to ensure the cleaning of roads, the repair of power lines, and assistance to farmers who have been affected by the damage.
