The Librazhd-Qafë Thanë road was blocked for about 7 hours yesterday, after a mass of earth and rocks broke away from the mountain, completely blocking traffic. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Safet Duka, a witness to the incident and the driver of the vehicle affected by the landslide, recounted the terrifying moment. He was traveling with his mother, who was a passenger, and both escaped unharmed, while the vehicle sustained damage.

"As soon as I stopped, I saw that some small stones collapsed and then large stones fell. They caught my car a little and I ran back. If I hadn't moved, they would have killed me and my mother who was in the car," said Duka.

He blamed the works to widen the Elbasan-Qafë Thanë axis as the main cause of the landslide, explaining that it was not due to rainfall or soil moisture: "It all happened because of the works that have been going on up there for a year. We are seeking justice, here in Albania there is no justice."
