"We can't know if the child died of myocarditis," the doctor

The President of the Federation of Albanian Doctors in Europe, Aurora Dollenberg, in a Skype interview with News 24 spoke more about the case of the little boy from Korça who passed away a few days ago.

Dollenberg said that the little boy was misdiagnosed. She added that the child did not have a virus and that this is evident from the tests. According to her, if the boy had received the right treatment, he would have survived. Dollenberg emphasized that it cannot be proven that the boy died of acute myocarditis.

Aurora Dollenberg, president of the Federation of Albanian Doctors in Europe: A wrong diagnosis was made. The child did not have a virus, it can be seen from the tests. The boy was "rolled" in vain for several days. 10 days of time were lost. From the tests, it turned out that the boy had a bacterial infection. Even when the correct diagnosis was made, the medicines were insufficient. He was given a low-dose antibiotic.

Fatality in such cases is almost excluded, if the boy would have been treated properly. If the boy had received the right treatment, he would have survived. With proper diagnosis, the situation would have improved over time. We cannot know if the boy died from acute myocarditis.
