Chaotic traffic on the Tirana-Elbasan axis! Record flow of vehicles and kilometer-long queues towards the southeast

This Friday's noon was accompanied by a heavy traffic situation on the national axis connecting Tirana with Elbasan, where from 12:00 onwards, vehicle traffic in the segment from the Krraba Tunnel to the Bradashesh Roundabout appeared extremely slow.
The main cause of this situation is the extraordinary flow of vehicles moving from the capital towards the southeast of the country, a phenomenon repeated almost every weekend, especially during the spring and summer season when citizens choose to leave Tirana for tourist areas and other cities.
In particular, the biggest problem is in the area known as "Hinka e Bradasheshit", at the exit of the highway towards Elbasan, where kilometer-long queues of vehicles and frequent traffic jams are created. This point has become a problematic junction for traffic, causing significant delays for drivers and often tension on the road.
Despite the presence of the Traffic Police on the ground, managing the situation remains difficult due to a combination of several factors, including the lack of full road infrastructure standards, its narrowing in Dopaj, uncontrolled entries and exits, and the high volume of vehicles in a relatively limited segment.
The traffic police have called on drivers to exercise increased caution, respect traffic rules and avoid dangerous maneuvers, while suggesting the use of other road alternatives or planning movements outside peak hours to avoid long traffic jams.
The current situation once again brings to attention the need for deeper infrastructural interventions and long-term solutions, with the aim of improving traffic on one of the country's most important road arteries.
