Trump refuses to wear a bulletproof vest for public appearances: I don't like looking 10 kilos fatter
Donald Trump's stance appears to be negative towards the possibility of wearing a bulletproof vest in his future public appearances, following the attack at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
He himself even justified his refusal by saying that a bulletproof vest would make him look healthier.
"I don't know if I like looking 10 pounds heavier," he replied when asked by reporters at the White House.
In recent days, American media have reported that discussions are underway at the highest levels about the possibility of President Trump being forced to start wearing a bulletproof vest in future public appearances.
"They asked me. Maybe it's something to consider. On the one hand, you wouldn't do it, because it's like retreating in the face of evil. So I don't know. However, they asked me ," the American president declared.
Recall that the attack at the White House Correspondents' Dinner is the third attempt on Donald Trump in the last two years, the most serious of which was the ear injury from a gunman during a rally in Pennsylvania in 2024.
Trump is also known for his sensitivity to appearance. According to his last medical check-up in April 2025, he weighed 101.6 kilograms, about ten kilograms less than in 2019.
