The selection of the new head of the Police ends after about 9 hours of interviewing 14 candidates

The interviewing of 14 candidates competing for the position of the new Director of the State Police, one of the most important positions in the leadership of the country's law enforcement forces, is completed.

The process, which took place today for about 9 hours, included an in-depth assessment of the professional experience and qualifications of each candidate.

We recall that the interview was conducted in alphabetical order, while the first to appear for the interview was Afrim Tafa, currently the director of the Durrës Police.

After the interview, all candidates will be ranked from best to worst and within 48 hours, Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari will forward a name to the Council of Ministers for appointment.

The commission at the Ministry of Interior was composed of Deputy Minister of Interior Silva Caka, Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior Kledia Ngjela, and Head of the AMP Eduart Merkaj, who evaluated the candidates' files.

Also, the United States Chargé d'Affaires in Tirana, Nancy VanHorn, visited the Ministry of Interior today.
