"The party is not Flamur Noka's," Alesia Balliu reacts to the

The candidate for president of the Democratic Party, Alesia Balliu, has reacted sharply after Flamur Noka's decision to expel two members, Aridian Burgijan and Arlind Boshnjaku, from the party.

In a status published on social media, Balliu questions the reasoning behind this decision, emphasizing that the justification for secret cooperation with the Socialist Party raises questions about the standards used within the DP. She demands a public explanation as to why, in her opinion, the same standard is not applied equally to everyone.

Balliu specifically mentions the case of Elbasan MP Blendi Himçi, about whom she says that allegations have been circulating for a long time about benefits received by his family members from the government. According to her, the fact that these cases are not treated equally indicates the existence of a double standard within the party's leadership structures.

In her reaction, she sharply criticizes the way in which, according to her, certain members who do not align with the interests of the leaders are expelled, while others, who may have connections or benefits, are not only not penalized, but are also politically empowered.

In the end, Balliu emphasizes that the Democratic Party cannot be strengthened through exclusions and internal divisions, but only through building a fair and equal political culture for all members. She adds that the party must return to a space that belongs to democrats and not to particular individuals, underlining the need to stop “backstabbing” and for a deep reflection within it.

"Today, Flamur Noka expelled two democrats, Aridian Burgijan and Arlind Boshku, from the Democratic Party, with the excuse that they had secretly collaborated with the Socialist Party.

But the question that needs to be asked publicly today is this: why doesn't Flamur Noka use the same standard for everyone?

Why doesn't the same principle apply to Elbasan MP Blendi Himçi, when it has long been openly said that his brother receives tenders from Edi Rama's government and his wife works in institutions that depend on this government?

Why this double standard, when it comes to two democrats who do not serve Flamur's interests, they are immediately expelled. When it comes to people who fill Flamur Noka's pockets with money, they are promoted and given political power.

"The Democratic Party will not become stronger by excluding Democrats one by one, as if they were enemies. It will only become stronger the day when the backstabbing stops and when it is understood once and for all that the DP belongs to the Democrats and not to Flamur Noka," writes Balliu.
