Air alert in Estonia, drones pass through Latvia! NATO scrambles fighter jets in response to incident

Drones in Estonian airspace have triggered an air raid alert overnight, in another incident that raises concerns about security on NATO's eastern flank.
The drones initially caused an alarm in Latvia and then crossed into Estonian airspace, according to public broadcaster ERR.
The incident was recorded at around 3:00 a.m., when Estonian authorities activated the air threat alert in several areas of the country.
According to the Estonian Defence Forces, the drones had moved parallel to the eastern border of Estonia and Latvia, before entering Estonian airspace.
Following the alert, NATO fighter jets took off from Ämari air base as part of the Baltic Air Patrol Mission. Turkish aircraft, deployed to Estonia for the NATO air defense mission, monitored the situation.
The alarm was lifted before 06:00, while authorities continued to monitor the situation.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna announced that NATO reacted in accordance with the foreseen procedures and that the alliance continues to be on alert to protect the territory of member countries.
