AFSA publishes 6-month report: SIGAL paid 13.8 million euros in damages for over 10 thousand cases

The Financial Supervisory Authority published the 6-month report on the insurance industry in the country.
According to this official report, SIGAL Insurance Group compensated more than 1/4 of the total payments of the insurance industry in the country, where a total of 10 companies operate in both life and non-life segments.
In life and non-life insurance, SIGAL INSURANCE GROUP recorded 10,720 claims, with a total payment value of approximately 13.8 million euros. This amount constitutes 26.89% of the total claims of the insurance industry in the country.
Non-life insurance
SIGAL Insurance Group held the leading share in claims payments in the non-life insurance segment, accounting for 27.81% of the total claims paid by the entire industry. During the reported period, the company paid out 10,655 claims, with a total value of 1,237,653,000 lek.
Compared to the same period a year ago, the amount of claims paid by SIGAL Insurance Group in non-life insurance increased by 45.39%.
In total, the insurance industry paid 4,449,666,000 lek in claims in the non-life insurance segment, a segment in which eight insurance companies operate.
Life insurance
In the life insurance segment, SIGAL Insurance Group paid 25.02% of the industry's total claims. During the reported period, the company paid out 64 claims, with a total value of 47,617,000 lek.
In total, the insurance industry paid 190,334,000 lek in claims in the life insurance segment, where six companies operate. Over a quarter of this amount was paid by SIGAL Insurance Group.
Company and market
The insurance industry paid out 4,779,879,000 lek in claims, in the life and non-life segments taken together (16.75% more than the same period a year ago), of which 1,285,270,000 lek were paid out by SIGAL alone. More than 1/4 of the claims paid out in an industry with 10 operators. SIGAL paid out 26.89% of the total claims paid out by the insurance industry to its clients in the first 6 months of this year.
