A serious incident has shocked Brazil, after a tourist tragically lost his life while trying to take a photo near a waterfall.
The victim has been identified as Caio Libero Batistela, an accountant by profession. The incident took place in the state of Paraná, an area known for its natural landscapes and picturesque waterfalls that attract domestic and foreign tourists.
According to local media, Batistela was at the top of the Rio Sao Jorge waterfall when he approached the edge to take a photo. At that moment, he allegedly lost his balance, falling from a height of about 40 meters.
It is reported that a person who was with him tried to grab him by his clothes to stop his fall, but the attempt was unsuccessful. According to firefighters, he also seriously risked falling into the abyss while trying to help him.
Emergency crews faced great difficulties due to the rugged terrain and limited access to the area. The waterfall where the accident occurred is considered difficult to reach, which further complicated the operation to extract the body.
The incident has once again brought to the fore the dangers posed by natural areas, especially when visitors approach dangerous spots to take photographs. Local authorities are urging tourists to exercise extreme caution and respect safety measures when exploring such areas.
