Blockage of the Librazhd-Prrenjas axis, the price of the ticket for travel to the southeast increases by 1000 lek

The blockage of the Librazhd-Prrenjas axis, as a result of the collapse of the road in the place called 'Arrat e Gurrës', has brought its effects, immediately after the isolation of the entire southeast.
The possibility of not passing through this axis and other alternatives to reach Pogradec, Maliq and Korça has led to the increase in the price of transport tickets from Tirana to the Southeast.
The price has increased from 700 lek to 1,000 thousand lek for all citizens who want to travel to the southeast of the country by public transport.
This increase has directly affected citizens who regularly travel to the capital for work, study or to receive health services.
The reason for this situation is the blockage of the Librazhd-Pogradec road axis, which has forced public transport vehicles to change their routes.
Citizens say that the new price is unaffordable for their budget, while highlighting the concern that the 1,000 lek fee may remain in effect even after the road reopens, becoming a permanent price.
Outside the cameras, drivers argue that the route diversion has led to longer travel times, increased fuel consumption, and greater vehicle depreciation, costs that, according to them, are reflected in the price of the ticket.
Currently, vans are circulating through the alternative Maliq–Lozhan–Moglicë–Gramsh axis, a longer segment with more pronounced traffic difficulties.
Drivers justify the increase in ticket prices by increasing the costs for them to find alternative routes, which are even further away in distance.
State authorities have not given a deadline for when residents of the southeast will be given a solution, even a provisional one, to access the cities.
Currently, the construction of a bay pass along the shore of Shkumbini, where the railway passes, is being considered, although the latter has also collapsed due to river erosion.
