Trump-Putin conversation/ Von der Leyen reacts: I thank the US president for his efforts to keep the dialogue on Ukraine open

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said she had a good conversation with US President Donald Trump.

The EC President also held talks with Emmanuel Macron, Giorgia Meloni, Friedrich Merz, Alexander Stubb and Volodymyr Zelensky, to be informed about the results of the Trump-Putin phone call.

In a public statement, von der Leyen said: " I want to thank President Trump for his tireless efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine. It is important that the United States remains actively involved."

"We will continue to support Volodymyr Zelensky in achieving lasting peace in Ukraine ," she concluded.
