The 'incinerator' eats the head of the president of Liguria, Giovanni

The investigation of the Prosecutor's Office of Genoa on corruption and electoral corruption in the "Toti system" is expanding, after the president of the Liguria region ended up under house arrest.

Public prosecutors and the GDF are preparing to study the material seized in recent days, with the aim of shedding more light on a system of business, politics and suspected bribery that includes not only the port, but also the waste system, major works and can it also affects, the investigators do not rule out, health care.

Among the next moves of the investigators is the possibility of hearing the mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, as a person informed of the facts, both for the port terminal concessions and for those related to large-scale retail trade.

Among the various entrepreneurs who would have given "a hand" by financing Change and the Giovanni Toti Committee, is Pietro Colucci, an entrepreneur from Campania in 2021 who operates in the province of Savona in the sector of disposal of non-hazardous waste, with the recovery of materials and electricity from biogas.

That very year, the Genoa prosecutor's office investigated him for illegal financing of parties (in particular the president's political formation) in a separate file, which is still open. And now, as seen from the judge's ruling, Faggioni is also accused of corruption: between 2016 and 2020, through his companies, he allegedly financed the Governor with 195 thousand euros in exchange for "granting authorizations for waste management".

Moreover, among the various entrepreneurs who are being investigated is Luigi Alberto Amico, owner of a ship repair and maintenance company: "the immediate expression of interest in his practice - writes the investigating judge - was followed by the assurance of financing in favor of the Toti Committee". On June 7, 2021, "a payment of 30,000 euros" was found in favor of the Toti Committee (of which 10,000 went the following week to the "dedicated" account of President Toti), an operation that was reported as suspicious by the Bank of Italy , similar to what happened with the financing provided by the Colucci group".

Toti in front of the judge, but will not speak

Meanwhile, Toti, who has been under house arrest since Tuesday, May 7, for the investigation that shocked the District, will be heard in the following hours by the preliminary investigation judge Paola Faggioni. But he will not speak: a choice made with his defender, lawyer Stefano Savi, who will accompany him to the Court at 14:00 for questioning.

"All incoming and outgoing money is traceable, but it is not yet time to talk to the judge, because the amount of papers to be read is very high", is the summary of Sav's reasoning. Totti will arrive from Ameglia, where he has been under house arrest since Tuesday when the finance company appeared at the Lolly Hotel in Sanremo, where the governor was staying as he had to attend an event with Flavio Briatore.
