Israel presents counterproposal for a ceasefire in Gaza, here's what it contains

Israel claims to have presented a counterproposal to the Gaza ceasefire plan.

Benjamin Netanyahu's office has announced that it has held consultations to discuss the proposal from Egypt and Qatar, which Hamas has already accepted.

"In the last few hours, Israel has presented its counterproposal to the mediators in full coordination with the United States," the prime minister's office said in a statement.

According to Israeli media reports, the initiative would allow for a ceasefire in Gaza in exchange for the release of five Israeli captives.
