Salmonella in chicken meat, the director of the National Food Agency tells what

The Director General of the Albanian Food Agency, Manush Kullolli, was invited to "Opinion", where he spoke about the release of 2.6 tons of chicken meat with salmonella on the market in Albania. He justified himself, and did not even give any explanation why the analyzes came out late and what happened to the shipment.

The sample was taken on March 11. He explained that according to the law, the quantity sampled by the inspectors is blocked and remains at the border inspection point, and in case it is taken for a routine check, the quantity must be kept blocked by the commercial entity.

"The law also holds the food business operator responsible," said Kullolli.

Kullolli said that with the release of the analysis report from the Food and Veterinary Safety Institute, the AKU has taken the measure to go to the subject to conduct an inspection of this subject.

"The entity has not made any traceability documents available, which is very important and the food business operator is obliged, based on the Council of Ministers' Decision on traceability for up to 3 years, to maintain traceability for each product. Traceability means identifying the product in every place in the territory where it goes," said Kullolli.
