China supports diplomacy, calls on Iran: Negotiations are better than fighting

China's foreign minister told his Iranian counterpart in a phone call on Tuesday that "talking is always better than continuing to fight," after Tehran denied US President Donald Trump's claim that negotiations had taken place.

"It is hoped that all parties will seize every opportunity and window for peace and start the peace talks process as soon as possible," Wang Yi told Abbas Araghchi, according to a Chinese foreign ministry statement.

The US declared yesterday through President Donald Trump that it will seek an end to the fighting in the Middle East by seeking a diplomatic solution.
