Pope Francis made a surprise public appearance, his first since recovering from his illness.
The Holy Father warmly greeted the faithful gathered at the Vatican while sitting in a wheelchair.
The last time the head of the Catholic Church appeared in public was two weeks ago from the hospital balcony as he prepared to leave after recovering.
The 88-year-old spent five weeks in hospital where he was treated for double pneumonia during February and March.
