The European Parliament in Strasbourg gave the green light with 419 votes in favor, 204 against and 46 abstentions to the resolution on the future of European defense, which calls on the EU to act urgently to guarantee its security, demanding that responses to external threats be "similar to those in wartime" and welcomes the European Rearmament plan, proposed by Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen, worth 800 billion euros.
The head of the European Commission will officially present the plan for the rearmament of Europe on March 20 and 21 at the commission meetings where the further steps of this plan are expected to be formalized.
