Details and names/ This is the 35-year-old man who set fire to his apartment after discovering his wife's infidelity, her 2 parents died

More details have come to light regarding the serious incident in Shkozë, Tirana, where two spouses lost their lives after their apartment was engulfed in flames. Police have arrested 35-year-old Astrit Idrizi, suspected of setting fire to the house of his cohabitant's parents.

According to sources, there had been disagreements between Idrizi and his partner, with whom he also has a child, for some time. It is learned that the 35-year-old suspected that his partner was cheating on him, which, according to the same sources, had led to repeated arguments and then their separation from each other.

Investigators are examining the possibility that conflicts between the couple may be related to the arson, although the motive for the incident has not yet been determined.

At the moment the flames engulfed the apartment, there were four people inside: the parents of Idrizi's cohabitant, their daughter, and the couple's child.

The two spouses, Ismete Ziu, 65 years old, and Agim Ziu, 68 years old, did not manage to survive the consequences of the fire and lost their lives.

Meanwhile, firefighters and police officers intervened to remove the victims' daughter and her child from the apartment. Both received medical attention at the hospital and, according to reported information, are in good health.

The incident occurred around midnight on October 14, in one of the social housing units on “Ali Shefqeti” Street, in the Shkoza area. After initial investigative actions, the police arrested Astrit Idrizi as a suspect in the arson.

The Tirana Prosecutor's Office is conducting investigations to determine the full circumstances of the incident and the reasons that may have led to it.

Suspicions of infidelity and disagreements between the couple are part of the preliminary information provided by sources and do not yet constitute an officially confirmed motive for the arson.
