Berisha's propaganda and the essence of the accusations against Flamur Noka - What is he really being investigated for!

Sali Berisha's recent public outing in defense of Flamur Noka has brought back to the center of the debate an issue that has long accompanied the Secretary General of the Democratic Party: Accusations about his wealth, its source and suspected benefits from public functions. Instead of clarifying these issues, Berisha has chosen to build a different narrative, shifting the debate to what he called the "Range Rover" case and mentioning the name of Lulzim Basha.
According to Berisha, a company was checked for the documents of a vehicle belonging to Flamur Noka and during the verification it was claimed that the car was purchased by Lulzim Basha, presenting this as evidence of manipulation against Noka. But this is clearly an attempt to divert attention from the essence of the matter, since the investigations and public accusations against Noka are not related to the ownership of a vehicle or to any “Lulzim Basha”, but to much broader issues related to the wealth and suspected benefits over the years. Berisha’s big lie, but not for the first time, is “Lulzim Basha”. If it really belonged to Luli, then there would be zero chance that Flamur would have used it, as he does. But it is a DP car and as such, it is not private property. In fact, Flamur Noka is not being investigated for this, and Berisha’s manipulation shows that the problem is very big.
Because in essence, Flamur Noka faces several other charges. One of them is related to the villa in Lalëzi Bay, for which a public report was made by MP Gazment Bardhi, requesting verification of the source of financing and the method of obtaining the property. The issue has become the subject of political debate and demands for transparency.
Another accusation relates to the period when Noka was part of the National Housing Authority. According to publicly raised allegations, his family members – including his sister and brothers – have benefited from apartments in Saranda as homeless people, raising suspicions of conflict of interest and use of public position for family benefits. These allegations have been mentioned as part of the verifications requested by the justice authorities.
The issue of declared assets remains at the center of the debate. Political opponents claim that Noka's assets, including apartments in the most expensive areas of Tirana and high-value vehicles, do not match the income declared from the MP's salary and family income.
One of the main issues is related to an apartment in the Artificial Lake area of Tirana, in the so-called “Red Palace”, with an area of about 190 m² and a garage of about 70 m², declared to be worth 173 thousand euros. According to the publicly raised allegations, the real value of this property is claimed to be much higher, raising doubts about the source of financing and the consistency with the income declared by Noka and his family.
Along the same lines, vehicle purchases are also mentioned, where it is said that Noka has purchased a vehicle worth around 40 thousand euros and another worth several million lekë, once again bringing up the issue of the source of income.
Another point of the accusations is related to the fact that Noka obtained a zero-interest loan in 2009 from the National Housing Authority, as a homeless person, at a time when he himself was part of the board of directors of this institution. With this loan, he bought an apartment of about 83.7 m² in the former Blloku area, which was allegedly sold a few years later for a much higher price. According to critics and the media, this maneuver later enabled him to purchase a larger property in the Artificial Lake area.
Questions have also been raised about the source of funding for political activities during the "Foltoresa" period and organizations related to Berisha's movement within the DP after the "Non Grata" declaration.
In this context, Berisha is simply trying to create a parallel debate and to relativize the accusations, presenting them as political attacks.
Berisha, who, like Noka, is being investigated for money laundering, finds it important to divert the debate. Both of them, but also others in the first circle of the Anti-US and Anti-Justice "revolution", which is being investigated by the Special Prosecution, as Berisha himself admits.
But Berisha has not yet clarified one thing: Can Flamur Noka travel to Great Britain and the USA, since he himself is known?/Alfapress.al
