The Institute of Public Health has come out today with other advice for citizens on how to protect themselves from the West Nile virus.
Don't forget. West Nile virus is not spread by touch. However, respect the hygiene and sanitary measures as follows:
- Avoid contact with bare hands when handling any dead animals.
- If you are disposing of a dead bird, use gloves or a plastic bag to place the carcass in a trash can.
- Always follow the instructions for cooking the meat thoroughly.
