The icon of Albanian cinematography passes away at the age of 84, the great

Another great loss has shocked the world of Albanian cinema and art. The well-known actor Birçe Hasko passed away this Saturday morning, at the age of 84, leaving behind a great pain for his family, friends, colleagues and the public that loved and applauded him for decades.

Born in Dukat, Vlorë, on March 15, 1942, Birçe Hasko was one of the most respected figures of Albanian stage and screen. After graduating from the “Jani Minga” school in Vlorë, he worked as a teacher in Memaliaj, where he also took his first steps in art through his engagement with the city’s amateur Estrada troupe.

In 1965, he began his acting studies at the Higher Institute of Arts, today the Academy of Arts, and after graduating, he remained a lecturer at this institution, where for many years he trained entire generations of artists by teaching the subject of Actor's Mastery. In 1995, he received the title of "Professor", becoming one of the most respected names in Albanian stage art.

His contribution to theater and cinema remains extraordinary. On stage, he played over 12 roles, while one of the most prominent roles was that of Milo in the comedy "Rain on the Beach" by Teodor Laço. On the big screen, Birçe Hasko sculpted dozens of characters that remained long in the memory of the Albanian public.

His first role in cinema was that of Sulo Ballisti in the film "When a Day Dawned" in 1971. He would later play in a number of well-known films, including the role of Mete Ali in "Radiostacioni", Syrjai in "Skëterrë 43", the teacher in "Gurët e dhëtë sime", as well as many other characters that turned him into one of the icons of Albanian cinema. His last role was in the film "Kronikë provinciale".

For his valuable contribution to Albanian art, he was honored with the title of "Merited Artist" in 1988, was decorated with the "Naim Frashëri" Order of the Second Class, and also held the title of "Grand Master". The Municipality of Orikum had also declared him an "Honorary Citizen".

With the passing of Birçe Haskosh, Albanian art has lost one of its most revered figures, an actor who, with his talent, voice, and interpretations, became part of the memories and lives of many generations.

Newsbomb. al expresses its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Birçe Hasko.
