Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, in an interview from Davos, stated that being part of the establishment of the agreement for the "Peace Board", initiated by President Trump, constitutes a direct assessment of the United States of America and President Donald Trump towards Kosovo and the progress achieved.
"The fact that the US has selected the Republic of Kosovo among the 20 founding members, at this signing ceremony today, shows a lot about the appreciation that President Donald Trump and the United States have for Kosovo and our role in peace," she told RTK.
Osmani said that standing with and alongside the US is also a sense of belonging, underlining that Kosovo has made its Euro-Atlantic stances clear for a long time.
"For Kosovo, every membership in international organizations is important, but it becomes even more important and takes on a historic character when we talk about the establishment of organizations by our strategic allies.
"In this case, from the United States, the ally that has stood by Kosovo in the most difficult times and that continues to stand with us, as we achieve new successes for our country and people ," the president declared.
In the interview with the public broadcaster, Osmani said she believes this organization will be among the most important in modern history, directly impacting conflict zones. She emphasized that Kosovo's state-building experience will serve as an excellent model.
"Of course, Kosovo, with its experience in building and maintaining peace, achieving freedom, democracy and independence, is one of the most excellent models of how to build a state, peace and alliances.
"From our experience, we have a lot to offer and we are very grateful to President Trump and the US for selecting Kosovo as one of the countries that will lay the foundations of this organization ," Osmani declared.
The President said that, upon the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly, this agreement will be sent for ratification to the deputies of the new legislature. She added that she is happy that, together with the Republic of Albania, Kosovo is part of this organization.
Meanwhile, regarding the Kosovo House at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Osmani said that it is a special pride that the achievements and potential of Kosovo and the diaspora are being represented there before important world leaders.
Osmani today represented Kosovo as a founding member, equal and with full rights in this international peace initiative.
