He killed the owner, regrets and confesses the crime after 15 years: He was a

We rarely hear of criminals showing remorse, especially when they have taken a man's life. Tony Peralta of New Mexico is one of them.

Although suspected of murdering his owner William Blodgett in December 2008, he was never arrested as there was no evidence to prove it. But, after 15 years, Peralta decided to confess the crime he had committed.

Foreign media write that last month, the 37-year-old borrowed a phone and communicated with the police openly saying that he had killed its owner.

"A lot of people have an excuse, I don't," he told a detective. The authorities say that when he was arrested, he repeatedly repeated what he had done in detail, from the way he had killed him to the place where he had buried the body of the deceased.

"I'm tired of hiding it, I'm tired of my life. I killed someone, you know, I killed him with a screwdriver!", the young man is said to have told the police officers. During the moment he confesses, he does not miss tears either.

"He was a good man, I took his life for no reason," he added.

This case had been forgotten for a long time as none of the leads had led the investigators to the discovery of the truth. On January 3, 2009, it was the victim's son, Greg, who reported his father missing.

At that time, the police suspected Peralta because there was evidence of a conflict between him and the owner. Peralta lived on rent in one of the victim's apartments, and it all started when the latter asked him to leave.

Peralta will now face the charge of first degree murder.
