The wave of protests in Albania continues to receive international attention, as the European Democratic Party has issued another strong response in support of citizens who have been taking to the streets for months against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Through a public statement, this European political force highlights the extraordinary resilience of the protesters, who once again filled the main boulevard on what marks the 64th consecutive day of protest. According to them, neither the scorching summer heat, nor the holidays, nor fatigue have been able to fade or thin out the crowd of citizens.

The reaction emphasizes that the Albanians' demands are clear and essential for the future of the country: clean institutions, protection of the coastline and a political class that is accountable for its elections and decisions. However, what stands out is the open criticism directed at the two main political poles in the country. The European Democratic Party underlines that neither the government of Edi Rama nor the opposition led by Sali Berisha have given the Albanians a serious answer, and it is precisely this political vacuum that is the main reason why the civic movement continues to grow.

Describing this protest as a pure display of civic courage that Europe recognizes and supports, the statement concludes with a call for solidarity, accompanying the message with the movement's well-known symbol and hashtag, #flamingorevolution.
