Lawyers' boycott of the GJKKO escalates, including hearings on security measures

The lawyers' boycott of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime is entering a new phase. After nearly three weeks of interruption of court proceedings, the lawyers have decided to extend the boycott to include sessions where security measures are being reviewed.

The decision was made this Wednesday, during a meeting held at the National Chamber of Advocates. Until now, hearings for the appointment or review of security measures were not included in the boycott. With the latest decision, the lawyers have decided to extend the protest to these judicial proceedings as well.

The boycott began about 20 days ago and has led to the non-development of processes at the GJKKO, while the new decision is expected to also affect hearings directly related to the persons under investigation, including the imposition and review of security measures against them.
