Journalist Klodiana Lala stated that there is a possibility that if additional evidence is found, new criminal cases will be opened against former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
Invited to the show 'This Week' on News24, Lala claimed that searches were conducted in her apartment, that of officials and former officials, and 15 businessmen.
"The GJKKO has made a decision regarding the confidentiality of correspondence based on another case, and has set SPAK several milestones for the investigations it has in its hands. In the context of the checks carried out in December 2025 and January 2026, after many mobile phones were seized in the apartments of officials and former officials, in the homes of several businessmen. Here I can bring a detail where there was a search in the apartment of businessman Ilir Shtufi, for 12 hours. In the request made to the court, the GJKKO says; we have reasonable suspicions that the businessmen, there are over 15 businessmen, who have talked with each other and with officials and former officials to predetermine tenders. There are several mobile phones. Mobile phones and laptops were taken from Shtufi's house. Searches were also carried out in the apartments of Gentian Gjyli and Erald Elezit, or searches were also carried out at the legal secretary. The GJKKO has limited it, as it has said that the checks should be done for the specific case. The GJKKO has fully accepted the SPAK request. Focusing on the case of Evis Berberi, Lala said that; The Constitutional Court said that it has decided to leave unchanged, in force, the three court decisions, for the imposition of the 'prison arrest' measure for Berberi. Mr. Berberi, through his lawyer, had used a secret mechanism to affect his case with Mrs. Balluku. He requested the return of his cell phones. During the search, several cell phones were found, which he claimed were illegal actions. The Constitutional Court did not take this issue into consideration at all. The only possibility for this issue to be reviewed by the Constitutional Court was for there to be a decision-making."
