The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, considered the tearing down of the Israeli flag a criminal act and demanded the punishment of the perpetrator.

In a Facebook post, Berisha stated that this action is "an extremist, anti-Semitic criminal act that contradicts the feelings and traditional ties that unite our two nations and two countries."

"The Democratic Party condemns with the greatest force the tearing down of the Israeli flag raised at the embassy of this country as an extremist, anti-Semitic criminal act that contradicts the feelings and traditional ties that unite our two nations and two countries, and demands the deserved legal punishment of the author," Berisha wrote on social media.
