Erion Veliaj delegates his signature to the vice president Anuela Ristani

Erion Veliaj has delegated the signature of the Mayor of Tirana to the Vice-Mayor of this institution, Anuela Ristan.
This decision comes after the arrest of Erion Veliaj by order of SPAK, as it was taken during Edi Rama's second visit to the Municipality of Tirana.
Rama first went to the Municipality of Tiorana during the afternoon, where he held a meeting with the 5 deputy mayors of the municipality, Anuela Ristani, Andi Seferi, Keti Luarasi, Jonida Halili and Frida Pashako, and the general secretary, Alban Dokushi. Then, he went again during the afternoon where he held another meeting with the staff of the Municipality of Tirana.
According to the media, Rama's visit was to meet with the leaders of the institutions to leave messages on the continuity of the Municipality's work.
This afternoon, Rama also convened the Socialist Party Assembly for Tirana, where with Veliaj in prison, only Ogerta Manastirliu was next to him.
During his speech, Rama declared that he would be acting mayor himself, following Veliaj's arrest, even though this openly violates the independence of local institutions. He said they are being attacked for electoral reasons.
"They are hitting us for electoral reasons. This is a big blow to the SP. I will also be mayor. I will meet all the general directors to guarantee the normal functioning of the institutions." - Rama is reported to have declared.
Erion Veliaj was arrested a day ago by order of SPAK, after a 1-year investigation, as he is suspected of corruption in 9 cases and money laundering.
