The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, spoke on the "Opinion" show regarding the selection of the names of candidates for deputies on the closed list.

Berisha explained why many of the names on the closed list were because they supported him during the time of the DP split.

Berisha also spoke about the reflection of primaries in the lists of candidates for MPs.

"The DP went through an unheard-of ordeal, existence or not... These people lined up on the side of the existence of a political party outside the control of Edi Rama, the embassy or anyone else. Flamur Noka, Oerd Bylykbashi, Albana Vokshi, Belind Këlliçi, Besart Xhaferri, Edmond Spaho, Ivi Kaso and a whole group of others were faced with their choice.

Sali Berisha:  The first on Tirana's list is Balliu. I would have liked Hysen Kadiu to be on the closed list, but considering that 4 places were taken by the allies, 5 or 6 were ex-officio. Tirana only has 2 places left, the leader Belind Këlliçi and Balliu. If there was even the slightest chance, it would absolutely be Kadiu.

Sali Berisha : The party spokesperson in the statute is not ex officio on the list.
