SPAK investigates Arbër Veliaj's companies, Ola Xama: Turnover 30 million euros, achieved great success after his brother became mayor

Journalist Ola Xama, invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, spoke about the company of Erion Veliaj's brother, Arbër Veliaj, which is being verified and investigated by SPAK.
Xama explained the company's rapid growth, which has achieved around 30 million euros in turnover and 4.5 million euros in profit, while one of its main clients is the company ONE.
"The ONE company is one of Google's main clients, owned by Arbër Veliaj.
SPAK, in its investigative file against Erion Veliaj, is also investigating the conflict of interest that may exist between ONE and Google and the two public contracts that ONE received from the Municipality of Tirana, one for online traffic monitoring and the other for optical fibers. ONE is a company registered in Bulgaria with Hungarian beneficial owners.
It always strikes us that the success stories are those of people connected to politicians and their inner circle.
In 2011, Gogel had a modest annual turnover of 100 thousand euros with a profit of 10 thousand euros. Then, it was sold to Veliaj's brother, Arbër Veliaj, and in 2014 we see immediate growth, with an average turnover of 3 million euros. In the last year, 2023, the turnover reached 8 million euros.
In 2022, Arbër Veliaj founded another company, Gogel Holding, which provides services for Gogel shpk. If we calculate the annual turnover, we reach 30 million euros in revenue and 4.5 million euros in profit," Xama said, among other things.
Meanwhile, journalist Klodiana Lala stated that Arbër Veliaj's company is under investigation by SPAK and verifications are continuing.
"The ONE company has won several tenders in the Municipality of Tirana. There are two tender procedures that are being reviewed due to suspected clientelistic connections. So one has to do with traffic monitoring and the other with optical fibers. It is a direct relationship with the Municipality of Tirana.
Arbër Veliaj's companies are all under investigation. An order has been issued to seize the cell phone. All transactions he has had with all companies, not just ONE, including the companies of his sister-in-law, Ajola Xoxa, are being looked at, because there have been transactions and financial relationships. This investigation is ongoing and the progress must be seen. Arbër Veliaj has been subjected to all legal procedures, control, seizure, etc., which suggests that his financial activity is being controlled," Lala said, among other things.
