Taulant Balla in Elbasan: There is no rotation of directors. Movements based on achievements

The Minister of Internal Affairs Taulant Balla was this Thursday in Elbasan in a meeting with the police leaders where he did the annual analysis.
Among other things, Balla also spoke about cybercrime. He said that Albania already has a structure for this issue, while regarding the changes of local leaders, he added that this remains dependent on their performance.

"As a whole, as in the whole country, the year 2023 has been a successful year in the State Police. In all security parameters, the year 2023 can be described as the year with the best level of security, if we consider that the year 2023 was the year of a historical record of the number of foreigners who chose to visit Albania.
There are over 10 million foreign tourists and don't forget that this influx of tourism has brought an increase in the number of road users. It is about 3.6 million cars that have moved on the roads of Albania, causing road incidents.
We also discussed this in the analysis of the Elbasan police, if we consider that Elbasan remains an important node of the road corridors that pass through here.
Also, we discussed other elements of the fight against organized crime where I specifically asked the Elbasan District Police Directorate in cooperation with the prosecution, using police intelligence, to focus on finding wanted persons.
As you have followed, a few days ago, thanks to the commendable work of Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of Great Britain, we have found and very soon we will extradite to Albania a person who is accused of a serious criminal event that occurred 14 years ago.
The director of the Elbasan Police has received orders to continue working on the discovery of all those criminal events that happened many years ago in Elbasan.
The fact that during 2023 we had a decline does not mean that we will lose our attention to the discovery of old events.
The other is related to the fight against drug trafficking, their production and distribution, especially in schools.
I want to guarantee the citizens that the State Police will continue to pay particular attention to the attack on any form of trafficking and distribution of narcotics.
We must not forget the other element, economic crimes, where I have been very clear about issues related to the illegal organization of gambling or other elements, as well as environmental crimes of various forms.
Elbasan is a model of the cooperation of all law enforcement agencies with the State Police in the fight against organized crime and any other form of crime.
We have a special unit within the General Directorate of Police regarding Cybercrime, while today we discussed with the General Director to join forces in order to investigate all forms of cybercrime. It is appearing in many forms, one of them is violence, bullying in social networks, not only against minors, but against the whole society.
For this purpose, we will increase our communication as the State Police with schools, with the whole society and also coordination with the prosecution in order to block any kind of page that is a problem.
In the meantime, we are researching the preparation of a special law to regulate this problem that has appeared and which has complaints from citizens.
The case of Durrës, even though the investigations led to another track, was an alarm and a case that requires us to increase and improve the legal framework to face this phenomenon.
The changes in us are daily and these changes are not made with national action, nor with campaigns, but depending on the realization of the tasks that each director has. Every leader of the State Police knows very well when to run and when to stay.
