Projection: Albanians may receive second mandate in Serbian Parliament

According to the projection of CeSID and Ipsos, two organizations that deal with election polls in Serbia, the Albanian Coalition is expected to be represented with two deputies in the Serbian Parliament, while the Student List secures an absolute majority.

According to the projection, the Albanian Coalition has received 0.8% of the votes at the national level, which translates into two parliamentary mandates.

Based on the ranking of candidates, the two mandates go to Shaip Kamberi from the Party for Democratic Action (PVD) and Visar Mehmeti from the Alternative for Change (APN).

The Albanian Coalition united eight political parties from Preševo, Bujanovac and Medveđa and competed as a national minority list. For this reason, it is not subject to the general electoral threshold of 3%.

In the same projection, the Student List results in 52% of the votes and 139 mandates out of 250 seats in Parliament, while Aleksandar Vučić's "United Serbia" list has received 39.3% of the votes and 104 mandates.

Distribution of mandates according to CeSID/Ipsos projection

Electoral list votes MANDATES
Student List 52.0% 139
United Serbia – Vučić 39.3% 104
Hungarians of Vojvodina 0.9% 3
Albanian Coalition 0.8% 2
SDA of Sandzak 0.4% 1
SDP – Rasim Ljajic 0.5% 1
in total   250

According to the projection, Ivica Dacic's "Stability Factor" list remains outside Parliament, with 2.3% of the votes.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić admitted defeat in the election earlier this evening, stating that sample data from his coalition showed that he had lost to the Student List.

Representing Albanians with two mandates would mark an increase compared to previous elections, when Albanian parties competed separately and the Presevo Valley had only one MP in the Serbian Parliament.

According to Presheva.al, the high voter turnout in the Valley, where in Presheva alone over 37% of voters had voted by 7:00 PM, as well as the arrival of voters from Kosovo during the afternoon, influenced the coalition's result.

The official and final results are expected to be announced by the Republican Election Commission of Serbia.
