Tom Holland and Zendaya's engagement is confirmed, the actress shows off

Tom Holland and Zendaya's engagement has been confirmed by his Spiderman co-star, just weeks after it was revealed the couple were getting married. The actress first revealed her diamond engagement ring while attending the Golden Globes in January, with sources telling TMZ that Tom popped the question sometime between Christmas and New Year's.

Actor Jacob Batalon, who plays Peter Parker's best friend Ned in the Spiderman movies, confirmed the news of their engagement in an interview with Metro. Speaking to interviewer Zac Haniff while promoting his new film Novocaine, Jacob compared Tom's proposal to his own after getting engaged to his girlfriend Veronica Leahov earlier this month.

Asked if he and Tom had planned to get engaged at the same time, Jacob laughed and said: No, I definitely didn't, we didn't know about each other's plans like that.  But I will say that I thought about it first, so no no we didn't know about each other's plans no.

Sources previously told DailyMail.com that Tom took an old-fashioned approach and got permission from Zendaya's family before asking his Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star for her hand in marriage.

"The proposal was sweet and romantic and happened over the holidays. He did it the old-fashioned way and got permission from her people. Everyone is excited. They are the most normal couple in the house and she is ready to spend her life with him. She has gotten everything she has ever dreamed of and marrying Tom and starting a family is next on her list,"  the insider said.

The Spider Man actor has been in a relationship with his co-star Zendaya since 2021 and the pair own a home together worth $3.7 million in Richmond, London.

Opening up about the star's decision to reveal her ring at Sunday night's awards show, the insider explained: Zendaya knew what she was doing when she wore that ring and she didn't care. She also knew it was going to get out there, but she was ready for it. She loves Tom and he's been with her the whole time. They have a uniquely private romance and while they may seem very opposite, nothing could be further from the truth.
