Barcelona reject €65m offer for De Jong

Frenkie de Jong continues to be one of the main pillars of Barcelona's midfield, but his future at Camp Nou remains uncertain.
With a contract expiring in June 2026, the Dutch midfielder has attracted the interest of several major European clubs, including Manchester United, who have submitted a bid of 65 million euros to transfer him in the upcoming transfer window.
The news is reported by the Fichajes.net portal.
Despite the tempting offer, Barcelona has rejected it, considering De Jong a key part of its sporting project.
The Catalan leaders' priority is to renew his contract, to avoid the risk of the player entering the final year of his contract without a new deal, which could allow him to leave for free in 2026.
Manchester United, who have been following the Dutch midfielder for some time, have previously attempted to transfer him to Old Trafford, but without success.
Now, given Barcelona's still fragile financial situation, the Red Devils hope to convince the Spanish club to accept a sale.
However, Barcelona remain determined to keep De Jong, considering him essential to the team's balance.
His future will depend heavily on contract renewal negotiations.
If an agreement is not reached in the coming months, Barcelona may be forced to reconsider its stance and listen to new offers, to avoid losing him for nothing.
Meanwhile, Manchester United continues to monitor the situation, ready to take advantage at any moment.
