Neymar's future at Santos remains in doubt: Will decide only after June 12

Neymar's return to Santos has sparked enthusiasm among fans, but also many question marks about the future.

During an interview at the break of the friendly against Red Bull Leipzig, the Brazilian 'star', who started as a starter without managing to leave a mark on the field, stated that he has not yet made a decision on renewing his contract with the club, which expires on June 30.

"I don't know yet," Neymar said with a smile. "I will only talk about it after the match on the 12th. Until then, I will not comment further."

"I've said it before: I'm still thinking. Even if you ask me this question in three days, I'll give you the same answer. I'll decide after the 12th."

After recovering from another injury, Neymar has already played two games with Santos: a disappointing elimination from the Brazilian Cup against the modest CRB team and a league victory over Vitória, which was not enough to lift the team out of the relegation zone.

Before the break, which will bring the Club World Cup, Neymar is expected to play two more matches with Santos, against Botafogo and Fortaleza.

Only after these matches will the 33-year-old make a final decision about his future and whether or not he will continue to wear the jersey that made him famous on the international stage.

His situation is being closely followed not only by Santos fans, but also by the media and other clubs interested in the Brazilian's services, while June 12th remains the key moment for the final decision.
