Tirana is 'invaded' by youth! Private universities join the protest, Elbasan and Durrës head towards the capital, and high schools are boycotted as well

Durrës Street is now hosting thousands of Tirana students and citizens alike, who have joined the protest and are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. The area has been cordoned off with State Police officers, while the students have arrived in front of the Ministry of Education a few hours before the announcement, at 2:00 PM.

Almost all of Tirana's faculties have boycotted the auditoriums one after another and all the students have marched towards Durrës Street.

The first were the students of the University of Medicine, then the Polytechnic announced the suspension of lectures and seminars, and one after another, Natural Sciences, Engineering, Foreign Languages, and Economics boycotted classes.

Students at the Agricultural University of Tirana also announced that they were interrupting lectures and seminars and heading towards the Ministry of Education, where thousands of citizens and students have gathered.

Up to now, the situation appears calm and there is no escalation or conflict. Tirana Police have also mobilized forces from several departments to guarantee order and security, despite the disproportionate confrontation.

Students from Elbasan and Durrës are also reported to have boycotted their studies and headed towards the capital, with the sole demand being the removal of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Meanwhile, the boycott has also spread to Tirana's high schools. Students from "Partizani" and "Ismail Qemali" high schools have skipped classes and have begun to join the older students on Durrës Street.

Students from private universities also joined the protest, telling journalists present that they are demanding their rights and a response from institutions. They often stated that their demands are forgotten in the institutions' drawers.
