A 32-year-old electrician died yesterday after repairing an electrical line in Mërtish, Divjakë.
After this serious incident, the police announced today that they have placed 2 electricians from OST and OSHEE in handcuffs.
Xhezmi Haliti, a substation employee, and Arben Presheva, an electrician, are suspected of violating occupational safety regulations by failing to disconnect the electricity to the line that Xhujo Shtembari was repairing.
"Following the investigative and operational actions, in relation to yesterday's event, in the village of Mërtish, where citizen Xh. Sh., 32 years old, an electrician at OSHEE, lost his life, suspected of coming into contact with electricity, while working to repair an electrical line, the services of the Divjakë Police Commissariat arrested in flagrante delicto citizens Xh. H., 60 years old, resident of Gradishte and AP, 57 years old, resident of Babunje.
"These citizens, namely electricians from OST and OSHEE, are suspected of having violated occupational safety rules by not disconnecting the electricity to the line that the 32-year-old was repairing," the police informed today.
