Italy/ 2 Albanians arrested in Bergamo, caught with 160 kg of cocaine

Two Albanian citizens have been arrested in Bergamo by Italian authorities, following an operation by the Guardia di Finanza, where over 160 kilograms of pure cocaine were seized.

The drugs were hidden in a truck and packed in around 150 packages. According to Italian authorities, the value of the narcotics on the black market is estimated at up to 20 million euros.

The operation took place within the framework of a wide control action coordinated by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Brescia, focused on the industrial and commercial areas of the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia, considered at high risk for criminal activity.

According to investigators, the intervention was carried out after suspicious movements of a parked truck were noticed.
